MetroHealth Appoints Chief Strategy Officer

The MetroHealth System has appointed Peter Benkowski - a veteran healthcare strategy and operations executive - as the health system's new Senior Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer.

In this role, Benkowski will guide MetroHealth's strategic planning process that will deliver a blueprint for transforming the delivery of health and wellness services in Northeast Ohio. He will also oversee MetroHealth's strategic partnerships, affiliations and business planning.

"His leadership will be instrumental in driving MetroHealth's continued growth and delivering upon our promise to lift the health and wealth of the communities we serve."

Benkowski, who starts in his new role July 15, most recently served as Senior Vice President of Strategy for Hennepin Healthcare, a Level 1 Adult Trauma Center and safety-net health system in Minneapolis. Previously, he served in leadership roles at Intermountain Health in the Denver market and OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio. He will have a dual reporting relationship to Dr. Steed as CEO and Derrick Hollings, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial and System Services Officer.
