The Hayward Police Department Community Academy, which gives its adult participants an inside view of Hayward Police Department operations, is returning in September and registration is open.

This eight-session, certified educational program offers a comprehensive exploration of law enforcement and insight into the intricacies of policing in Hayward while fostering community-police relationships and understanding.

The Hayward Police Department Community Academy is open to anyone 18 years of age or older who is a resident of or employed in the City of Hayward.

Classes will be held at HPD's North Hayward Resource Center, 22701 Main Street, Hayward, beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11.
