REPLACEMENT OF TECUMSEH AVENUE BRIDGE
August 28, 2024
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
The reconstruction of the Tecumseh Avenue Bridge will be discussed at a public involvement
meeting. This bridge crosses over Lagoon Du Nord in the City of Monona.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday August 28, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the
Monona Community Center, 1011 Nichols Road, Monona, WI 53716. Residents are encouraged
to attend.
The existing concrete slab bridge will be replaced with a new concrete flat slab bridge at the
current bridge location. The project also includes reconstruction of the roadway approaches.
Small areas of permanent right-of-way acquisition and temporary limited easements are
anticipated. Work consists of bridge removal, grading, concrete masonry, pile driving, crushed
aggregate base course, asphaltic pavement, erosion control items, and landscaping items.
Construction of the new bridge and roadway approaches will occur in stages (half at a time).
Doing so will allow a single lane of Tecumseh Avenue to remain open to traffic with stop signs
on both approaches. Construction is currently scheduled for Summer 2027.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the preliminary plans of the work scheduled for the
bridge construction project, discuss the proposed schedule, and gather public input. Any
comments or questions that may be of interest to the design team are welcome.
The meeting will begin with a short presentation to provide an overview of the project,
followed by time for questions and answers. Representatives from the City of Monona and MSA
Professional Services, the design firm leading the project, will be available to discuss project
details, address comments, and answer questions.

Persons requiring an interpreter, materials in alternate formats, or other accommodations to
access this meeting are encouraged to contact the MSA Professional Services at least 72 hours
prior to the meeting.
