Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that 43-year-old Isiah Glover of Concord, North Carolina was arraigned on Sunday morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Diane Wray on one count of Vehicular Assault in the Second Degree (Class "E" felony), one count of Driving While Intoxicated (unclassified misdemeanor under New York State Vehicle & Traffic Law) and one count of Driving the Wrong Direction on a One-Way Roadway (violation under New York State Vehicle & Traffic Law).

It is alleged that on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at approximately 2:36 a.m., the defendant was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of Route 33/Kensington Expressway when he caused a head-on collision with another vehicle near Humboldt Parkway. The defendant, who was allegedly operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition, is accused of causing serious physical injuries to the other driver. The victim, a 25-year-old male from Cheektowaga, was taken by ambulance to ECMC. The defendant was not injured in the crash.

Glover is scheduled to return on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. He was held without bail.

"Our partners in law enforcement will be patrolling the roadways this holiday weekend. We're committed to keeping our streets safe. If you operate a vehicle while impaired by drugs or alcohol, you will be prosecuted," said Acting Erie County District Attorney Mike Keane.

Acting DA Keane commends the Buffalo Police Department Accident Investigation Unit for their work in this investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Mitchell T. Schoellkopf and Christopher M. McCarthy of the Vehicular Crimes Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
