Drug Control Units Arrest Four Suspects Following a Search Warrant in Roxbury

At about 6:06 AM, on Friday, July 19, 2024, members of the Drug Control Units of District E-18 (Hyde Park), District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) and members of SWAT, arrested Robert Davidson, 60, of Roxbury, Sheldon McBynum, 58, of Roxbury, Kevin Phillips, 46, of Dorchester, and Maalik Abdur-Rasheed, 47, of Somerville, on firearm, drug charges, and active warrants.

Officers were conducting a long-term drug investigation and execution of search warrants in the area of 8L Beethoven Street to address ongoing community complaints. As a result of the search warrant, officers recovered twenty-one plastic bags of Crack Cocaine, one loose rock of Crack Cocaine, three plastic bags of Heroin, one bill fold of Heroin, twenty-five and a half pills of Gabapentin, four plastic bags of Marijuana, one plastic bag of Cocaine, several packaging materials, scales, cutting agents and $1,565 in US currency.

Officers also recovered Charter Arms Revolver 44 Special Bulldog with four rounds in the magazine, a Taurus G3C with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in a high-capacity magazine, and a plastic bag containing twenty-seven rounds of ammunition.

Davidson was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Possession of Class A.

McBynum was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Two Counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B, and Possession of Class A.

Phillips was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession with Intent to District Class B.

Abdur-Rasheed was placed under arrest for an active warrant out of Roxbury District Court for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

A female suspect will be summonsed to court for Possession of Class A and Possession of Class B. All four suspects are expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
