UCF Libraries Rolls Out Leganto System for Course Materials Access

UCF Libraries announces the integration of Leganto, a cutting-edge system that manages course materials and assists in educational affordability. This new addition into the UCF Libraries academic toolkit promises to streamline the way faculty and students access and organize educational resources.

Leganto allows instructors to easily create, maintain and share resource lists directly linked to the library's catalog and digital repositories. This seamless integration with the existing systems means that all academic materials - books, articles, videos and more - are now just a click away, and directly accessible through Canvas.

Faculty will find Leganto is an invaluable ally in curriculum design, allowing for the easy addition of library resources to their courses. It also includes the ability to track user engagement with the materials, as well. Faculty can easily use the built-in analytics tools to understand what items are being used and how often.

For students, Leganto is a one-stop portal to access all required and supplementary course readings. It offers the convenience of finding all materials in one place, and also supports real-time availability checks for library resources. Students can quickly plan their coursework without the hassle of unavailable texts.

Leganto also plays a crucial role in enhancing textbook affordability. It allows faculty to easily source educational resources that have no costs for students and integrate them directly into their course lists. If all course materials are free for students, this provides an opportunity for classes to be labeled as ZTC (zero textbook costs) when students register. This also supports UCF's commitment to the Affordable Instructional Materials (AIM) initiative and the Affordability Counts Program.
