On August 31, 2024, State Police arrested Anthony M. Lotman, 27, of Amsterdam, NY, for Menacing in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree.

On August 31, 2024, at about 9:30 p.m., State Police responded to the report of a disturbance involving a knife that occurred in the area of Veeders Mill in Amsterdam, NY. The investigation determined during a verbal altercation, Lotman, who is known to the victim, allegedly brandished a knife and held it against the victim's neck. The victim was able to get away, uninjured and left the scene.

Lotman was located in the area of the incident and taken into custody. The knife reportedly involved was in Lotman's possession at time of arrest and seized. He was transported to SP Fonda for processing and issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Amsterdam Town Court on September 12, 2024, before being released.
