The year 2023 was financially exceptionally strong for the City of Vantaa, whereas the economic development over this and the next few years looks gloomier. Furthermore, next year Vantaa will build five new daycare centers, in addition to which, four schools will undergo basic renovation.

The city's operating costs in 2025 will be raised by increased service needs and general price levels, the TE2024 reform, municipal salary solutions, as well as investments in preventing differentiation, increasing reading and math skills, youth and immigrant work, and basic education for adults. Moreover, appropriations have been increased for biodiversity, adaptation to climate change, as well as sports services. In addition, the city council's joint protocol statement asks for increased appropriations for developing school meals as well as for improving their quality.
