Single-Vehicle Crash Claims the Life of Ruston Man

Lincoln Parish - On Sunday, July 07, 2024, shortly after 5:00 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash on LA 33 near Pylant Road. The crash claimed the life of 20-year-old Owen Robinson of Ruston.

The initial investigation revealed that a 2016 Ford F-150, driven by Robinson, was traveling north on LA 33. For reasons still under investigation, the ford traveled off the rights side of the road and struck a tree. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. Restraint use is unknown. Impairment and speed are suspected factors in this crash. Routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive impaired, fatigued or distracted, follow all traffic laws, and always ensure every occupant is properly restrained. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.

In 2024, Troop F has investigated 23 fatal crashes, resulting in 24 deaths.
