Suspect Arrested for Shooting Man in Chinatown-International District, Firearms Recovered

Seattle Police arrested a 31-year-old suspect for shooting another man in the Chinatown-International District Friday night.

On July 5th, at 11:58 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a man shot in the 600 block of South Main Street. Police located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers provided emergency medical aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and continued treatment. The 31-year-old victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

A firearm was located at the scene and seized as evidence.

The man fled the area in a vehicle. Officers discovered his whereabouts in Kent and arrested him.

The suspect was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault 1st Degree. The firearm was recovered and seized as evidence. He faces additional weapons violations.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.

Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives processed both scenes and have taken lead on the investigation.
