Educational professionals interested in pursuing a graduate degree are invited to CU in Graduate School, a virtual information session scheduled for Monday, March 25, at 5 p.m.
During the virtual event, faculty members from CU's graduate degree programs in education will provide information on the Master of Education in Reading degree, Master of Science in Educational Leadership degree and the Master of Education in Education degree, which offers concentrations in literacy, special education, and teaching and learning.
Certified teachers who earn a Master of Education in Reading degree are eligible for additional certification as a reading specialist. The degree curriculum also includes instruction on how to coach and mentor others in the field, resulting in mentor teachers who can model and train more inexperienced teachers.
The Master of Science in Educational Leadership degree is ideal for certified teachers who aspire to move into administrative roles in the PK-12 school system. The program offers a progressive educational experience, which combines classroom instruction and research with field-based learning experiences. The program will prepare students to be strong educational leaders and increase their capacity to cultivate leadership in others.
The Master of Education in Education degree serves teachers and other educators who desire to grow as professionals and improve their teaching by obtaining advanced knowledge of pedagogy and classroom practices; who aspire to deepen student learning; and who seek to transform schools and increase educational equity. The program coursework is based on the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
Attendees will learn about degree program specifics, career tracks, graduation timelines and course formats. Financial aid and scholarship opportunities will also be discussed.
