Meeting with Jewish organizations of the United States of America

In the context of the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the attack against the AMIA, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino met with representatives of Jewish organizations in the United States (Anti-Defamation League, Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, and American Jewish Committee), to address issues related to terrorism and Antisemitism at local and international levels.

Argentina's top diplomat recalled that the matter is part of the fight against violence and discrimination, which are in turn part of a broader framework of policies for the promotion and protection of human rights, a State policy in our country since the recovery of democracy.

Furthermore, Argentina's candidacy to chair the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) in 2026 was discussed, highlighting that, should Argentina be elected, it would be the first time that a State from the Southern hemisphere presides over the organization. Argentina's permanent commitment with the implementation of practices to combat Antisemitism and the joint actions that the organization and our country could carry out together were also addressed.

In attendance were: for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), Jonathan Greenblat, Marina Rosenberg and Ben Sax; by the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations (CoP), William Daroff and Stephanie Hausner; and by the American Jewish Committee (AJC), Ted Deutch, Michael Tichnor, and Dina Siegel Vann.

Also participating for the Delegation of Argentine Israelite Associations (DAIA): Jorge Knoblovits (President), Marcos Cohen (Vice President), Alejandro Zuchowicki (General Secretary), Ricardo Furman (President of the Friends of DAIA Foundation), and Victor Garelik (Executive Director). For the AMIA, Guillermo Amos Linetzky (President) and Gabriel Alejandro Gorenstein (General Secretary) attended.

Argentina is the only Latin American country with full membership in the IHRA, an organization made up of 35 States and focused on promoting teaching, research and remembrance of the Holocaust.
