Interlock Steel Structures to expand in St. Joseph, investing $773,000 and creating four new jobs

Interlock Steel Structures, a structured steel fabrication manufacturer, announced today that it will expand in St. Joseph, investing $773,000 and creating four new jobs. The company plans to expand its more than 43,000-square-foot facility to increase productivity while enhancing quality and innovation.

"Interlock Steel Structures' expansion is great news for the St. Joseph area and our state," said Governor Mike Parson. "Missouri continues to receive national attention for our low cost of doing business and exceptional job growth. Companies like Interlock Steel Structures are making this possible through significant investments that are improving lives and strengthening communities."

Interlock Steel Structures' expansion will allow the company to produce its own steel sheeting line while continuing to manufacture its Team Perka Buildings line of products, which includes fencing, railing, gates, and more.

"We are thrilled to announce the second recent expansion of our three-generation family business with the addition of a Steel Sheeting Roll Forming Line," said the Thevenot Family Ownership Team. "This new capability complements our existing range of steel fabricated products, including structural steel frames, beams, girders, fences, railings, and more. Our commitment to quality and innovation continues to drive us forward, and we look forward to serving our customers with an even broader array of products."

New jobs added as part of Interlock Steel Structures' expansion will pay an average wage well above the county average.

"We're proud to support Interlock Steel Structures as it grows, invests, and helps Missourians prosper in St. Joseph," said Michelle Hataway, Director of the Department of Economic Development. "Missouri's manufacturing sector is an important part of our economy that's experiencing rapid growth. This company's expansion will further strengthen our state's position as a leading driver of economic opportunity."

For this expansion, Interlock Steel Structures will benefit from the Missouri Works program, a tool that helps companies expand and retain workers by providing access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation.

What others are saying

"The Chamber's Economic Development team is excited to see another expansion project happen in St. Joseph's South Side," said Natalie Hawn, President and CEO of the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce. "This expansion will not only add jobs, but enhance quality and innovation. We're thankful for Interlock Steel and Team Perka Buildings for continuing to invest in St. Joseph."
