U of A Bands to Hold Fall Concert Band Auditions

The U of A Bands invite all students, regardless of major or instrument, to audition for a fall 2024 concert band. Two ensembles will be offered, each available as one-credit-hour courses offered through the Fulbright College.

Wind Ensemble
M-W-F, 12:55-2:15 p.m., Chris Knighten (MUEN 16901, 26901, 36901, 46901, 48601 and 56901)

Wind Symphony
M-W-F, 12:55-2:15 p.m., Chase Jones (MUEN 14601, 24601, 34601, 44601, 46601 and 54601)

In-person auditions will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 18, in the Epley Band Building.

Brass and woodwind instrumentalists will play two short prepared excerpts, two major scales and a short sight-reading selection. Percussionists will play brief excerpts and sight-reading. Instruments are available for the semester to any enrolled student at no cost.

Students can sign up for an audition at bands.uark.edu. Audition excerpts can be obtained by requesting access to the U of A Bands Sharepoint.
