Downtown Orlando Entertainment District Curfew

Downtown Orlando Entertainment District Curfew

Last updated on November 01, 2024

Early in the morning on November 1, the lives of two individuals were taken and several others were injured in a shooting in downtown Orlando. Orlando Police officers acted quickly to arrest the suspect, preventing this tragedy from becoming worse.

We will not tolerate any crime in our city and will leverage every single tool available to keep our city safe.

On Friday, November 1, 2024, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer issued a local state of emergency that will take effect immediately, instructing businesses in our downtown entertainment area to end alcohol sales at midnight. A curfew within the district will also be implemented beginning at 1 a.m. until 5 a.m.

This local state of emergency will end Friday, November 8, 2024, at 5 p.m.

We recognize there will be impacts to businesses and residents within this area, however, the safety of every person who lives, works, and visits our downtown is our top priority.
