Calling All Shutterbugs: Submit to the Library’s Photo Contest


NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (July 5, 2024) - Big smiles, ok? The New Brunswick Free Public Library's 17th-annual photography contest is taking submissions. The deadline is Oct. 4. Submission forms and full details are available at George Street Camera, 344 George St., and Alfa Art Gallery, 108 Church St. They can also be found here.

To gear up for the big competition, two photography workshops accompany the contest and will be held in the library's community room.

"Networking for Artists and Photographers," will be led by professional photographer Christopher Galluccio on July 10, at 6:30 p.m. Professional photographer Jim LaSala will lead the second workshop, "The Colorful World of Black & White," on July 17, at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required; space is limited. Photographs entered in the contest will be displayed at the New Brunswick Free Public Library. Professional photographers and library staff will judge submissions, and the winners will be announced at the exhibit's opening reception on Nov. 15, at 6:30 p.m. All photos will be on display in the library's Carl T. Valenti Community Room from Nov. 15 until Dec. 20. The contest and related events are free and open to all ages.
