City of McKinney to spray several areas for mosquitoes Aug. 26 - 30

McKINNEY, Texas (Aug. 22, 2024) - The City of McKinney is set to spray several areas of the city next week to control mosquitoes after mosquito pools tested positive for West Nile Virus. Spraying will occur at 10 p.m., weather permitting, and will cover a one-mile radius around the addresses of the positive mosquito pools.

  • Monday, Aug. 26: 2001 S. Central Expressway
  • Tuesday, Aug. 27: 2996 Virginia Parkway
  • Wednesday, Aug. 28: 2321 Lacebark Lane
  • Thursday, Aug. 29: 4269 Eldorado Parkway
  • Friday, Aug. 30: 10302 John F. Kennedy Blvd.

Signs will be posted at major intersections to notify residents of spraying activity, and information and a map of the spray areas will be posted on the city's website at McKinneyTexas.org/MosquitoControl.

Residents in the spray areas are advised to stay indoors during the spray period and should bring their pets inside that evening. Residents who do not want to spray near their homes should contact City of McKinney Health Compliance at 972-547-7447.
