Support Shore Medical Center: Your Community Hospital Needs You

At Shore Medical Center, our mission is rooted in a simple but profound commitment: to provide exceptional, compassionate care to everyone who walks through our doors. As a nonprofit community hospital, we rely on the generosity of individuals, families, and businesses to continue delivering the high-quality healthcare our community deserves. This holiday season, we invite you to join us in "Caring Together" for our community by making a gift today.

Why Shore Medical Center is Essential
Being a nonprofit community hospital means that every dollar we receive is reinvested into improving care, upgrading facilities, and expanding programs that benefit you, your loved ones, and your neighbors. We're here for the moments that matter most-whether it's a life-saving emergency, advanced medical treatment, or specialized support for unique patient needs. Your support helps us continue to expand the ways we can be here for you!

How Your Support Makes a Difference
Your contributions have a direct and meaningful impact on the care we provide. Here's how your generosity helps us continue to serve our community:

Enhancing the Healing Environment
Your donations help us update our healing environment, including renovating patient rooms throughout the hospital to create spaces that are more welcoming, comfortable, and conducive to recovery. This past year, we renovated patient rooms on our 5 Stainton and 5 Hayes units, adding new headwalls, repainting the rooms, improving the lighting, and installing new flooring.

Investing in New Medical Technology
Healthcare technology is constantly evolving, and having access to the latest equipment is essential for delivering cutting-edge care-especially in surgery. Your support allows us to invest in state-of-the-art surgical tools and technologies, ensuring that Shore Medical Center remains a leader in providing the most advanced treatments for our community, close to home. Thanks to your generosity, we've been able to bring the following surgical technologies to our patients:

  • Brainlab spinal navigation system: Enhances surgical precision, safety, and patient outcomes, especially in challenging cases involving scar tissue and complex structures.
  • Lumenis Pulse™ 120H with MOSES™ 2.0: Delivers advanced kidney stone treatment for larger stones and will soon enhance care for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
  • Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR): A minimally invasive procedure to treat carotid artery disease with superior outcomes, lower stroke risk, reduced recovery time, and fewer complications compared to traditional surgical options.

Supporting Patient Care Initiatives
Every patient's journey is unique, and we're committed to meeting the diverse needs of everyone we serve. Our new volunteer roles-Fall Prevention Volunteers and Mobility Volunteers-are helping us enhance patient safety and support faster recovery. Additionally, we've invested $2.5 million in a state-of-the-art pharmacy IV clean room. While required for regulatory compliance, this facility also ensures safer, higher-quality care for our patients. Your contributions make these advancements possible, enabling us to expand programs, improve care delivery, and provide personalized, inclusive, and compassionate care to our community.

Exciting Developments Made Possible by Donors
We are thrilled to announce some exciting new changes thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, including the establishment of a new oncology lab funded by Marlene and Bob Buckley, and the William and Marguerite Jenkins Career and Leadership Development Program, funded by Dr. Constance Jenkins Pritchard, which will support Shore employees' professional development. These initiatives, among others, are directly improving the care we provide and ensuring that our staff continues to grow in expertise and leadership.

To learn more about the impact of our donors, please read our Fall 2024 and Spring 2024 donor newsletters, where you can read more about the exciting changes made possible by their generosity.

Looking Ahead
We have many exciting projects to look forward to in 2025, including a new Bone Marrow Biopsy Room at Shore Cancer Center, made possible by a generous gift from the RNS Cancer Fund, a new Adult Autism Room in the Emergency Department, funded by the Eagles Autism Foundation, and a sensory-friendly program in our Outpatient Lab made possible by Mike's Seafood 5k Run/Walk for Autism. These projects reflect our commitment to addressing the unique needs of our patients and ensuring everyone receives the best care possible.

Why We Need Your Support
As a nonprofit hospital, we depend on the generosity of people like you to sustain and grow our programs and services. Your donation-no matter the size-helps us ensure that our community has access to exceptional care, close to home.
