Radio Call in Mattapan Leads to Firearm Recovery and Suspect’s Arrest

On Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, Officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested 50-year-old Lonnie Daniels, of Jamaica Plain for firearm related offenses after responding to a radio call for a dispute at 9 Vera St., Dorchester.

At about 10:48 PM, Officers arrived on-scene and located the victim who informed Officers that following a verbal argument, the suspect, identified as Lonnie Daniels, threatened to shoot her and had a firearm in his waistband. Daniels was still on-scene and was standing next to his unregistered motorcycle.

An investigation followed and led to the recovery of a firearm located inside a storage compartment of Daniel's motorcycle. The firearm was determined to be a Glock 43x with six (6) rounds in the magazine and one (1) round in the chamber.

Lonnie Daniels was arrested and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for the charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm in Public, and Threat to Commit a Crime.
