GBI Arrests Commerce Man in Murder Investigation

Jackson County, GA (September 9, 2024) - The GBI has arrested and charged Cesario Choc Caal, age 23, of Commerce, GA, with felony murder, malice murder, and aggravated assault in connection to the death of Griselda Seb Acte, age 19, of Commerce, GA.

On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office requested the GBI to assist with a death investigation. Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the 5000 block of Highway 82 Spur in Commerce, GA, in response to a call for medical assistance. After further investigation, the deputies and emergency medical personnel determined that Acte had injuries to her neck. Acte was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Caal was at the house when 911 was called.

Caal was booked into the Jackson County Jail.

This investigation is active and ongoing.
