UMass Store to Host Live Painting Event with Renowned Artist Julia Gash During Homecoming Weekend

In celebration of Homecoming Weekend, the UMass Store will host an exclusive event featuring British artist Julia Gash on Saturday, Sept. 21. Gash will conduct a live painting session in-store from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., followed by a signing of her unique Massachusetts and UMass-inspired artwork.<_o3a_p>

Entrance to the event is free, and artwork by Gash will be available for purchase.<_o3a_p>

A creative entrepreneur and British artist known for her passion for art and maps, Gash is renowned for her whimsical, hand-drawn cityscapes that celebrate local culture and landmarks. Her artwork has garnered popularity among UMass students and alumni, capturing the distinctive spirit of Massachusetts and the UMass community.<_o3a_p>

Gash creates hand-drawn illustrations using brush and ink, collaborating with retailers and licensees worldwide to produce sustainable and stylish gift and souvenir collections featuring her distinctive artwork. Over the years, she has developed a unique archive of illustrations that depict cities, towns, and regions from around the globe. Her work has been transformed into souvenirs, art prints, and tote bags through her collaborations with a diverse range of global retailers and licensees.<_o3a_p>

The official campus store for the University of Massachusetts Amherst, the UMass Store serves the campus community-including students, alumni, departments, athletics, families and visitors-both online and in person. All proceeds from the UMass Store support various campus programs, contributing directly to the university's mission.

The UMass Store is located on the first floor of the UMass Campus Center, and paid parking will be available in the adjoining Campus Center Parking Garage.<_o3a_p>
