A new fleet of four waste collection trucks are now on the road carrying stunning images of Mansfield Shire in a campaign to 'Keep the High Country beautiful'.

Mayor Cr Steve Rabie said Cleanaway's waste service was the largest contract managed by Council.

"Waste collection is a core service for Council and managing this well is a critical Council function," said Cr Rabie.

"Managing waste correctly at all levels, from residents to governments, is key to making sure our shire maintains its wild beauty. That's why we have put these giant moving billboards that illustrate this beauty right on the side of our trucks. They look fantastic while offering a reminder of how important waste collection is to our environment.

"I'm also really pleased to say that many of these photos were actually taken by Council staff, who, in their personal time, have tried to capture how they see the beauty of Mansfield Shire."

The images feature snow-capped mountains, local autumn colours, Gough's Bay, Jamieson township from above, a curious kangaroo, a rainbow at sunset, horses braving the snow and the high country plateaus.
