Urban Forest Committee Accepting Applications

The City of Erie is looking for several new members for the City's Urban Forest Committee which works to preserve, maintain, and increase Erie's urban forest while providing education to residents and businesses on tree planting and tree care. City residents with experience, formal training, or knowledge of: tree care, gardening, forestry, landscape architecture, horticulture, public utilities, civil engineering, architecture, contracting, arboriculture, planning, or environment can apply for this volunteer position at https://go.citygrows.com/city-of-erie/authorities-boards-and-commissions. Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30PM at Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park (LEAF) - 1501 West 6th St.

The Committee may have up to seven members. 2 committee members will serve for 1 year, 2 members will serve for 2 years, and 3 will serve for 3 years. Upon the expiration of each term, a successor shall be appointed by the Mayor for a term of 3 years. All terms are renewable for 3 years, but members may serve no more than 3 consecutive terms.
