The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, Javier Martínez-Acha Vásquez, visits Brazil – September 4, 2024

On September 4, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mauro Vieira will receive his Panamanian counterpart, Javier Martínez-Acha Vásquez, who will head a delegation including the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Julio Moltó, and the Minister of Agricultural Development, Roberto Linares.

The foreign ministers will address topics from theeconomic agenda, including Panama's engagement with MERCOSUR and the negotiation of a bilateral investment facilitation agreement. They will also address Latin American integration and coordination of positions in regional and multilateral forums.

In 2024, Brazil and Panama celebrate 120 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Panama is Brazil's main trading partner in Central America. In 2023, bilateral trade reached a historic high of $963 million.
