Get ready to sashay, slay, and support some of our furriest friends in need! Paws & Platforms Disco Drag Brunch, a fabulously fun fundraiser for Denver Animal Shelter, takes place next week, blending the best of drag, disco, and a passion for pets.
DAS invites you to join them on Sunday, October 13, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for breakfast bites, boozy beverages, dazzling drag queen and king performances, and a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to care for the more than 8,700 animals that come into the shelter each year.
This one-of-a-kind event is headlined by a lineup of spectacular drag stars including Valentino Verde, Throbbin Hood, Bambinaa Donutt, Dean Dazzle and Mona Mystic who will bring their vivacious verve, unique style, and tremendous talent in support of our community's most vulnerable animals.
Those who attend are encouraged to display their best disco or drag attire. Think sequins, platform heels, and zip-up pantsuits. All the while raising funds for the shelter's lifesaving work.
Of course, you can also expect special appearances by adorable, adoptable pets looking for their forever homes! Come with your hearts and wallets open!
Besides brunch, adult cocktails, drag entertainment and shelter tours, attendees can also enter drawings to win furbulous prizes including pet gift baskets and staycations. Visitors can purchase tickets to enter the drawing when they arrive. One ticket is $5, 10 are $35.
"We wanted to create an event that brings people together in a fun, unusual and lively way, all for an important cause," said Melanie Sobel, Director of Denver Animal Shelter. "Our animals need help, and what better way to support them than through glitter, drag, and disco? This event is not just about entertainment, it's about making a difference and learning about the important work we do."

Denver Animal Shelter is an open-admission shelter which never turns any animal away, serves the community 365 days a year, is staffed with Animal Protection officers who provide 24/7 animal rescue, and offers kennels for overnight drop-offs of stray and unwanted animals.
