Several Downtown Streets to Temporarily Close October 4, 5

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that portions of several streets will temporarily close Friday, October 4, and Saturday, October 5, for University of Nebraska-Lincoln homecoming and basketball events. The closures are as follows:

Friday, October 4:

• 12th Street between "Q" and "R" streets, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• 13th Street between "Q" and "R" streets, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• 14th Street between "Q" and "R" streets, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• 14th Street between Vine and "W" streets, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• 16th Street between "R" and Vine streets, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• "R" Street between 12th and 16th streets, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Vine Street between 14th and 16th streets, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Canopy Street between "Q" and "R" streets, 5 p.m. to midnight

Saturday, October 5:

• Canopy Street between "Q" and "R" streets, 6 a.m. to midnight

StarTran Routes 22-NIC City, 24-Holdrege, 25-Vine, 27-North 27th, 42-Bethany, and 49-University Place will be detoured during the Friday events. For more information on StarTran routes and detours, visit lincoln.ne.gov/transit or call 402-476-1234.

Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures. LTU appreciates the public's patience during these closures and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
