Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.

Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • No-hit shooting - 4900 block of Long Beach Boulevard: On Aug. 24, 2024 at approximately 5:11 p.m., officers responded to the 4900 block of Long Beach Boulevard regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers located evidence that a shooting had occurred. The suspect(s) fled the scene before officers arrived. Suspect information and the motive for the shooting are under investigation. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
  • No-hit shooting - 5500 block of Lemon Avenue: On Aug. 25, 2024 at approximately 3:25 a.m., officers responded to the 5500 block of Lemon Avenue regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers located evidence that a shooting had occurred. The suspect(s) fled the scene before officers arrived. Suspect information and the motive for the shooting are under investigation. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

Great work officers! Last night, officers safely took a gun off the streets -

  • On Aug. 24, 2024 at approximately 8:19 p.m., officers conducted a pedestrian stop in the area of 10th Street and Alamitos Avenue. During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm. The suspect who was later determined to be a prohibited possessor, was arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
