Suzhou to host ISF Football World Cup in 2026

When the nine-day 2024 ISF Football World Cup at a close, the ISF flag has been handed over to Suzhou - where the 2026 ISF Football World Cup will take place. At the closing ceremony of the 2024 event held at the Suoyuwan Football Stadium in Dalian, Liaoning Province,  Ji Jing, vice mayor of Suzhou City, received the flag from Laurent Petrynka, president of the ISF.

Hosted by the International School Sport Federation (ISF), the ISF Football World Cup is known as the largest football competition for high school students with the highest level and the most extensive influence in the world. During this year's event, the young athletes played 170 matches in total and they also participated in a rich variety of cultural exchange events such as Campus Culture Day and Culture Night activities.

In the final of the 2024 ISF Football World Cup, the No. 2 Chinese girls' team notched a 6-4 win over Kenya and the No. 1 Chinese boys' team a 7-5 win over Uganda after a penalty shootout respectively. The No. 2 Chinese girls' team is formed of members of the Jiangsu girls' team, with 4 players from Suzhou, namely Liu Ling, Yang Yuan, Guo Xinyu and Xu Yuanyuan.

As the host city for the 2nd ISF Football World Cup, Suzhou will make full preparations to make this event a great success.
