BOROUGH PRESIDENT GIBSON’S STATEMENT ON THE CLOSURE OF CONCOURSE MULTIPLEX CINEMA

"I am disappointed that the Concourse Multiplex Cinema has closed permanently. Their departure leaves only one movie theater left in The Bronx and one less safe, family-oriented community space for Bronxites to enjoy. Following conversations with the landlord, I was pleased to learn that they understand the importance of a cinema at this location and remain committed to installing a new movie theater tenant as soon as possible.

I was also encouraged by the landlord's commitment to activating the Concourse Plaza Mall into a premier destination. I look forward to working with the mall owners and their tenants to give them the support they need to bring Concourse Village residents and visitors a first-class shopping and entertainment experience."
