Bike Block Party 2023 at the Union Mall

The U of A Office for Sustainability will be hosting the annual Bicycle Block Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the Union Mall.

Bike Block Party is an annual celebration of cycling and active transportation on campus and an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to learn about what resources exist to support their biking efforts. Stop by to find opportunities to connect with our biking community and celebrate the joy of biking for recreation and transportation.

Northwest Arkansas is quickly growing into one of the pioneers of mountain biking and cycling in the U.S., and the U of A has kept up, renewing its status as a gold-rated Bike Friendly University in 2023 and continuing to build up campus culture and infrastructure that encourages active transportation.

The event will host a variety of local groups with information about how students can make the most out of biking on campus, in Fayetteville and beyond. Attendees are invited to participate in bike themed activities, get to know key members of the Northwest Arkansas cycling community and pick up some swag with live screen-printing from local studio Hi-Fin.

For students who are hoping to bike even more this semester, Bike Block Party is also an unofficial kickoff for Cycle September, a free online challenge hosted by Love to Ride USA encouraging participants to get their miles up. Visit the Love to Ride website to register.
