Driver Arrested Following Fatal Crash on Gallatin Pike Saturday Night

Update: Holly Wagner, 25, of Missouri, and Natalie White, 24, of Illinois, have been identified as the passengers killed in Saturday night's crash on Gallatin Pike North.

The impaired driver of a Jeep Cherokee is jailed this morning following Saturday's 11:30 p.m. crash that killed two women in a Ford Focus on Gallatin Pike North at Cude Lane. Giovanni Bolstad, 22, was driving the Cherokee eastbound on a revoked license from a DUI conviction last March when the preliminary investigation indicates he went through a flashing red light at a high rate of speed and struck the Focus.

The front and back seat passengers of the Focus died at the scene. Efforts are underway to notify their families out of state.

The 26-year-old driver of the Focus was transported to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Bolstad initially fled on foot, but returned to the scene and was also transported to Skyline with non-life threatening injuries. He was charged upon his release from the hospital this morning with two counts of vehicular homicide by intoxication and vehicular assault among other charges.

He is now jailed on $332,500 bond.
