Troopers arrested a Port Jervis man for Criminal Possession of a ...

On September 10, 2024, at approximately 2:50 p.m. members of the Troop F Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) observed a 2012 Acura traveling on Ball Street in the city of Port Jervis in violation of numerous vehicle and traffic laws. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and identified the operator as Matthew Daliz, age 20 from Port Jervis, NY. While speaking with Mr. Daliz troopers developed probable cause to search the vehicle. While searching the vehicle, troopers located a black and silver semi-automatic 9mm pistol with a defaced serial number in a black bag along with four rounds of ammunition. Daliz was subsequently arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd.

He was arraigned in the Town of Warwick Court in front of Judge Amundson and remanded to Orange County Jail on $50,000 Cash/$100,000 Bond/$150,000 Secured Bond. He is scheduled to appear in the City of Port Jervis Court at a later date.
