EMR certified as a Great Place To Work®

Global leader in sustainable materials, EMR, have been certified as a Great Place To Work by its people across the UK, USA, Germany and the Netherlands.

As a large business, with over 4000 colleagues across more than 160 sites, ensuring everyone's voice is heard is a challenge. EMR have therefore partnered again with global employee experience company Great Place to Work to carry out their annual survey. Covering all aspects of work life including safety, wellbeing, communication, career development, rewards and benefits, everyone is invited to have their say about their experience at work.

Against the backdrop of challenging, global trading conditions, EMR is delighted to have retained their certified Great Place to Work status for the 2nd year running, a testament to the efforts of everyone to focus on what matters to our people. The business also saw its highest ever participation rate with 78% of its global workforce completing the survey.

As a family run business, EMR knows that its people are the driving force behind its success and the feedback from this process enables a continuous focus on creating a great place to work for all colleagues in the incredibly diverse range of roles that are needed to drive the circular economy in metals and plastics. EMR will continue to build on this, working to reduce any local gaps in their colleague experience, to ensure they create a great place to work for all colleagues, regardless of their role.

Chris Sheppard, EMR CEO, said: "We're incredibly proud to, once again, be recognised as a Great Place To Work.

"This certification shows our commitment to making EMR a fantastic workplace for all our colleagues. Our colleagues and their safety, satisfaction, and pride in their work, along with trust in the company, are all very important to us.

"It's clear from the results that things are still moving in the right direction, however the work doesn't stop here. There are still areas across the business that we need to continue to focus on, to move us from a great place to work for most to a great place to work for all.

"With a high response rate of over 70% across the Group, it's brilliant that so many colleagues see that we're listening to their feedback and acting on it. We're delighted this 'you said, we did' approach is having a near-immediate impact on their daily working lives.

"Building and maintaining a positive culture is hard work, and there's always room to improve our colleagues' experience. We remain focused on what truly matters to our people and to make EMR an even safer and better place to work for everyone, by continuing to offer enhanced opportunities, sustainable careers, a supportive, safe environment, and a strong collaborative culture."
