Since 1989, H-E-B's Feast of Sharing event has invited people to celebrate the holidays with free food, live music, and holiday cheer. The annual feast is held in over 34 cities across the state and Mexico. On average, the event serves more than 340,000 meals each year. In the event's 35-year history, more than 375,000 volunteers have helped serve nearly four million meals. The event is an integral part of H-E-B's Hunger Relief Program, which works year-round to prevent hunger in more than 300 communities it serves. Since 1982, H-E-B has donated more than 1 billion pounds of food to 5,500 non-profit organizations and agencies in Texas and Mexico.
