Montoursville, PA - Motorists who travel Market Street (Route 4005) in Snydertown Borough, Northumberland County, are advised that a railroad crossing project begins next week.

Beginning Sunday, July 21, 2024, Market Street will be closed between Camp Road and Furman Road, while the contractor, CTW, installs a custom tub-style rail / highway crossing across the road.

A detour using Route 61, Shamrock Road (Route 2010), and Snydertown Road (Route 4012) will be in place for the duration of the project. The project is anticipated to be completed on Friday, July 26, 2024, weather permitting.

This work is a cooperative effort between the Shamokin Valley Rail Road and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
