WASHINGTON-United States Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today joined Your World With Neil Cavuto on Fox News to discuss Democrats' fake hysteria over President Donald Trump's cabinet picks, along with his endorsement of Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) for Senate Majority Leader.

Hagerty on Democrats' hypocrisy over DOJ weaponization: "If you look at what's happened with the Department of Justice (DOJ), it's in desperate need of reform…[Democrats] have completely weaponized the DOJ, going after parents at school board meetings. You think about going after the sitting President's opponent, his own political opponent, in President Trump, while not being willing to prosecute people that are attempting to intimidate and threaten sitting Supreme Court justices at their homes. The DOJ needs significant reform […] I know the Democrats are clutching their pearls right now, and they're very, very upset about everything. But if you think about how they have weaponized the DOJ, this is a situation that needs serious reform. And again, Matt [Gaetz] has done a lot of work in this area. I can understand why Trump appointed him […] You know, it is quite cynical when [Democrats] talk about this. When you take a look at [Attorney General] Merrick Garland…all he has done is serve the political aims and goals of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Again, they've completely corrupted the DOJ. We need to fix that now. And it's President Trump's prerogative to choose who he wants to nominate. And I think that's what you see right here. He's got somebody that, again, has been very outspoken about reforming the DOJ, and he is free to pick whomever he wants."
Hagerty on endorsing Senator Rick Scott for Senate Majority Leader: "I don't think it was a blow to Rick Scott at all. I admire him for having the courage to step up and to put his hat in the ring. [Senator] John Cornyn also put his hat in the ring. [Senator] John Thune emerged as the victory here. But three good men, three people that have great potential, and I want you to understand this: Everyone at the end unanimously got behind John Thune. We need to now see this Senate get in line and step up to the challenge that the American people have basically put forward to us, and that is they want to see significant change here. It can't be business as usual in Washington. We're going to have to take on the mandate that was delivered last week and support President Trump in that effort."
