Majestic Repertory Theatre Celebrates Eight Years

The Majestic Repertory Theatre on Main Street in the heart of the 18B Las Vegas Arts District is celebrating its eighth anniversary. The theatre is known for audience immersion, and has attracted global attention and talent, including Broadway and Tony Award-winning writers. The theatre showcases original productions, including a collaboration with headliner Usher and art collective Meow Wolf.

Marking Majestic Repertory's anniversary is the return of "SCREAM'D: An Unauthorized Musical Parody," a cabaret style spoof of the 1996 teen horror film which spurred a franchise that continues to thrive today. The show features a live rock band and a playlist of 90s pop hits ranging from Britney Spears to the Backstreet Boys. When it premiered in 2023, clips went viral with views on TikTok exceeding 20 million.

For those new to immersive theater - it's all about creating a theatre experience where audience members are no longer just observers, but are co-actors in the storytelling, walking through specific stage sets and oftentimes choosing which scenes to see. Each performance is unique because the audience and their choices are never the same.

Founded by Troy Heard in 2016, Majestic Repertory Theatre is named after one of Las Vegas' first theaters, the Majestic Theatre, which was located on Fremont Street. Notable productions include the world premieres of Bigfoot by Amber Ruffin - head writer for Late Night with Seth Meyers and Broadway's "Some Like It Hot," and "The Sandman" by Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor, writers of the Broadway musical "Bandstand." Majestic Repertory's relationship with Spiegelworld artists also led to the 2021 co- production "Hot Trash."

Most recently, Majestic Repertory was the originating theatre for two plays that have received worldwide recognition, "The Parking Lot" and "Clown Bar 2." In addition, innovations in immersive and interactive performance has led to collaboration on large scale with the producers of "Sleep No More," and others.
