TRAFFIC ALERT Kent County SR 1 Drainage Pipe Replacement

SR 1 Drainage Pipe Replacement

The Delaware Department of Transportation announces there will be a traffic pattern shift on SR 1 between Frederica and Milford starting the evening of September 3, 2024 (weather permitting) for Phase 1 of a crossroad pipe replacement project. All traffic from the northbound lanes will be shifted to the southbound lanes. Two lanes in each direction both northbound and southbound will be maintained on the southbound roadway. The shifts will occur at two locations:

1. From just north of Old Cemetery Road to north of Thompsonville Road.

2. From just north of DE Turf to just north of Exit 83 South Frederica.

Cicada Lane and Spring Hill Drive will be closed during this construction between September 3rd through November 22nd

Cicada Lane Detour is as follows:

From Cicada Lane to SR 1 - ; Take Cicada Lane to Tub Mill Pond Road and turn left onto Tub Mill Pond Road. Proceed on Tub Mill Pond Road and Make a left onto Church Hill Road/Thompsonville Road and proceed to Exit 79 Thompsonville Road. Using the on Ramp at Exit 79 get onto SR 1.

From SR 1 to Cicada Lane - ; Exit at Exit 79 Thompsonville Road, Make right onto Thompsonville Road/Church Hill Road. Proceed to Tub Mill Pond Road and make a right onto Tub Mill Pond Road. Proceed to Cicada Lane and make right onto Cicada Lane.

Spring Hill Drive Detour is as Follows:

From Spring Hill Drive to SR 1 - ; Take Spring Hill Drive to Reynolds Road and turn right onto Reynolds Road. Proceed on Reynolds Road and make a right onto Thompsonville Road. Proceed to Exit 79 Thompsonville Road and use the on Ramp at Exit 79 to get onto SR 1.

From SR 1 to Spring Hill Drive - ; Exit at Exit 79 Thompsonville Road, make a right onto Thompsonville Road. Proceed to Reynolds Road and make left onto Reynolds Road. Proceed to Spring Hill Drive and make left on Spring Hill Drive.
