Argentina Removes Labeling Requirements for Footwear and Textiles

On July 16, 2024, the Argentinian Ministry of Economy published two rulings, 156/2024 and 159/2024, that waive the labeling requirements for footwear and textile imports.

Imports of these goods will still require a description, model, brand, and country of origin. Argentinian customs will no longer be able to issue holds or fines for missing or incorrect labeling.

While these rulings waive the requirements on imports, labeling is required at the point of sale of footwear and textiles, even if not originally included on the imported product.

Ruling 156/ 2024 went into effect on July 17, 2024, and ruling 159/2024 went into effect on July 16, 2024.
