State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 8/13- 8/21

On August 13, 2024, at about 7:23 p.m. State Police of Chestertown stopped a Motorcycle operating on Atateka Drive in Chestertown, NY in Violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. The operator was identified as Christopher Parsels, 44, of Chestertown, NY. Parsels was arrested for Driving While intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the first degree and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Chestertown where he refused to provide a sample to determine the alcohol content of his blood. Further investigation discovered Parsels has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. In addition, Parsels was arrest by NYSP on August 5, 2024, for Driving While Intoxicated with a child (Leandra's Law). He was issued ticket returnable to the Chestertown Town Court on August 20, 2024, and released to a sober party.

On August 13, 2024, at about 11:50 p.m., State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol stopped a vehicle on Central Avenue in Albany, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The Driver was identified as Cesar Patin Ramirez, 37, of Schenectady, NY. Patin Ramirez was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Latham for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC. Patin Ramirez was issued tickets returnable to the Albany City Court on September 4, 2024, and released to a sober third party.

On August 18, 2024, at about 12:52 a.m. State Police assigned to the Latham Interstate Patrol observed a vehicle operating westbound in the eastbound lanes (wrong-way) of I-90 in Albany, NY. Troopers quickly took action to stop the vehicle and identified the driver as Edilson Joviano Pereira, 35, of West Hartford, CT. Joviano Pereira was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Reckless Endangerment in the second degree, and numerous other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Latham for processing, where he recorded a 0.18% BAC. Joviano Pereira was issued tickets returnable to the Albany City Court on September 3, 2024, and released to a sober third party. No crashes or injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

On August 18, 2024, at about 2:34 p.m., State Police of Princetown responded to the reports of an erratic vehicle eastbound on I-88 in Cobleskill, NY. Troopers patrolled the area and located a two-car crash on I-88 in Princetown, NY. One of the vehicles involved matched the caller's description and was driven by Liam Patrick-Mollnow, 19, of Clifton Park, NY. The investigation determined that Patrick-Mollnow struck another eastbound vehicle while attempting to pass it at a high-speed rate on the roadway's left shoulder, all while in a work zone. Patrick-Mollnow was arrested for Driving While intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Princetown, where he recorded a 0.14% BAC. Further investigation discovered Patrick-Mollnow has had a previous DWI conviction in the last ten years. He was issued tickets returnable to the Princetown Town Court on September 4, 2024, and released to a sober third party.
