Pedestrian fatal in the town of Peru

On October 2, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., State Police members responded to the intersection of Route 22 and Brand Hallow Road in the town of Peru for a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. An investigation determined a white 2022 Hyundai Tuscan was traveling south on Route 22 and struck Cynthia L. Murphy, age 62, of Millbrook, NY, as she was crossing from the east shoulder. Murphy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrived on the scene to investigate the incident.
