Update For Kent County Community Action's Food Assistance Program

Good Afternoon,

We would like to share a few programmatic changes with you.

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) Income Guidelines have increased to match the 2024 Federal Poverty Guidelines for income eligibility. Clients can still be eligible for TEFAP by needing food and/or if they participated in any of the following programs:

  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC);
  • Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP);
  • Supplemental Food Assistance Program (SNAP);
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI); or
  • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR).

In addition, we are bringing additional TEFAP distributions back to our office located at 121 Martin Luther King Jr. Street SE.

Please find an updated flyer here for TEFAP Open Distributions which has been adjusted to reflect the income guideline changes.

Last, due to funding changes, our Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is currently on a wait list. We are continuing to accept applications through our several distribution sites; however, new applicants are not able to receive a food box at the time of distribution until further notice. An updated flyer for CSFP Open Distributions can be found here.

If you have any questions regarding these changes, please contact us at the information

Kind Regards,
