Indiana Horse Racing Commission Seeks Assistant Director

The Indiana Horse Racing Commission (IHRC) has recently conducted a comprehensive review of its staffing operations, resulting in a strategic realignment of the Assistant Director position. This role has been expanded to encompass additional responsibilities critical to the agency's mission and goals.

The newly realigned position will oversee the agency's occupational licensing program, multiple breed development programs, and equine welfare and medication programs. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring compliance and maintaining the highest levels of integrity within the horse racing industry through effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, the Assistant Director will provide essential support to the Executive Director, aiding in the implementation of the agency's objectives and the Commission's directives.

IHRC Chairman Philip Borst, DVM, stated, "This unique individual will have the ability not only to preserve the IHRC's statutory purpose of ensuring that horse racing in Indiana is conducted with the highest standards and greatest level of integrity, but also to introduce innovative ideas that will maintain and foster a healthy racing industry in Indiana."

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Director position will possess an extensive background in the horse racing industry. Candidates should demonstrate substantial executive-level experience in leadership, communication, project management, and problem-solving.
