Cutler Announces $5.9 Million Grant for Lancaster County Conservation District

Dec. 09, 2024

HARRISBURG - Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) announced today that the Lancaster County Conservation District has been awarded a $5.9 million grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) 2025 Countywide Action Plan (CAP) Implementation Grants.

This funding is part of $24 million in grants that were awarded across Pennsylvania to reduce pollution and restore local streams, rivers and lakes in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

"This is fantastic news for the people of Lancaster County," said Cutler. "This funding is part of a process we started several budgets ago to help clean up and protect the Chesapeake Bay Watershed in Pennsylvania and this represents a major investment into Lancaster County's efforts to protect our wildlife."

The 2025 CAP Implementation Grant round brought in applications for 205 projects that will be completed in the next 12-18 months, resulting in an estimated reduction of nearly 110,000 pounds/year of nitrogen, 42,150 pounds/year of phosphorus, and 11.8 million pounds/year of sediment.
