Montgomery County: Construction Update

The following construction projects are anticipated to affect state highways in Montgomery County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting. Interstate 75 Projects

Interstate 75 Reconstruction in Moraine (SR 725/U.S. 35) - I-75 will be reconstructed between S.R. 725 and U.S. 35. I-75 will experience major reconstruction including a traffic pattern shift, ramp closures, and lane restrictions in each direction. This project includes new pavement, storm sewers, lighting, and minor bridge repairs. Estimated completion: Summer 2025. Visit the project page for more information.

CONTINUING IMPACTS:

Interstate 75 Lane Shift - Expect three lanes on I-75 in each direction. Southbound traffic in the left lane will cross over into a counterflow lane on the northbound side at Stewart Street starting Sunday, June 16 through October 2024. Drivers should expect a traffic shift starting the morning of Monday, June 17. Vehicles in the counterflow lane will not have access to exit on Edwin C. Moses, SR 741, and E. Dixie Drive. Crews will be completing work on the interior median and reconstruction of the southbound travel lanes. This new traffic pattern will maintain three lanes of traffic in each direction. This shift is weather dependent.

Interstate 75 Lane Closures - Expect overnight intermittent lane closures on I-75 in each direction between U.S. 35 and Miamisburg-Centerville Road (SR 725) from Monday, March 25 through Tuesday, October 15. Lane closures will be nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Crews will be completing miscellaneous projects as part of the ongoing reconstruction project.

Dryden Road Ramp Closure - The Ramp from Dryden Road to I-75 North will be closed from Monday, April 10, 2023 through July 2025. This closure is necessary to reconstruct I-75 in this area.

  • Detour: Dryden Rd. to Northlawn Ave. to Springboro Pike (S.R. 741) to I-75 North

Dryden Road Ramp Closure - The Ramp from I-75 South to Dryden Road will be closed from Monday, May 22, 2023 through July 2025. This closure is necessary to reconstruct I-75 in this area.

  • Detour: I-75 South to E. Dixie Dr. to Dryden Rd

Interstate 75 Lane Closures - Expect intermittent lane closures on I-75 in each direction between U.S. 35 and Miamisburg-Centerville Road (SR 725) from Monday, November 27 through November 2024 on Thursday nights. Lane closures will be nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Crews will be completing maintenance repairs.

Interstate 75 Projects

Interstate 75 Rehabilitation in Dayton(S.R. 4/ Needmore Rd.) - I-75 will be reconstructed between S.R. 4 and Needmore Road. I-75 will experience major reconstruction including a traffic pattern shift, ramp closures, and lane restrictions in each direction. This project includes rehabilitation and installation of new pavement. Estimated completion: Summer 2027.

CONTNUING IMPACTS:

Interstate 75 Lane Shift - Expect three lanes on I-75 in each direction between Needmore Road and SR 4. Southbound traffic in the left lane will cross over into a contraflow lane on the northbound side just north of Needmore Road starting Monday, May 6 through April 2025. Vehicles in the contraflow lane will not have access to the following exits: Needmore Road, Wagner-Ford Road, Stanley Avenue, SR 4 and SR48/Main Street. Crews will be completing work on the interior median and reconstruction of the southbound travel lanes. This new traffic pattern will maintain three lanes of traffic in each direction.

Interstate 75 Lane Closures - Expect overnight intermittent lane closures on I-75 in each direction between Needmore Road and Leo Street from Monday, April 15 through November 2024. Lane closures will be from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m on Thursday nights as needed. Crews will be completing roadway and barrier repairs as part of the ongoing reconstruction project.

NEW IMPACT:

Interstate 70 Ramp Closure - The ramp from Brookville Salem Road to I-70 Westbound will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Sunday, June 30 through Monday, July 1. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway. This work is weather permitting.

  • Detour: U.S. 40 to SR 49 to I-70

Interstate 70 Ramp Closure - The ramps from I-70 West from Arlington Road and the ramp from Arlington Road to I-70 West will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting on Monday, July 1 through Friday, July 5. Ramps will not be closed concurrently. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway. This work is weather permitting.

  • Detour: SR 503 to U.S. 40 to I-70

Interstate 70 Ramp Closure - The ramps from I-70 East from Arlington Road and the ramp from Arlington Road to I-70 East will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting on Friday, July 5 through Saturday, July 6. Ramps will not be closed concurrently. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway. This work is weather permitting.

CONTINUING IMPACT:

Interstate 70 Shoulder Closures - The shoulders on I-70 in each direction at the Brookville-Salem overpass will be closed starting Thursday, April 11 through August 2024. Crews will be reconstructing the bridge deck overhead.

Interstate 70 Lane Closure - Expect lane closures on I-70 in each direction between Diamond Mill Road and the Montgomery/Preble County Line from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Tuesday, April 10 through September 2024. Crews will be repaving the roadway.

Interstate 70 Lane Closures - Expect overnight intermittent lane closures in each direction on I-70 between SR 49 and Wellbaum Road from Sunday, March 3 through September 2024 starting at 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Closures will be Saturdays through Thursday nights. Crews will be working to reconstruct the overhead bridge deck at Brookville-Salem Road.

NEW IMPACTS:

State Route 48 Paving - Expect intermittent lane closures on SR 48 between Sawmill Road and Dorothy Lane Drive from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 31. Crews will be repaving the roadway.

Interstate 675 Lane Closure - Expect intermittent overnight lane closures on I-675 at SR 725 from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. starting Tuesday, July 2 through Friday, July 19. Crews will be working on the bridge overhead.

Interstate 75 Lane Closure - Expect overnight intermittent lane closures on I-75 in each direction between Little York Road and Needmore Road from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. starting Sunday, June 30 through Saturday, August 31. Crews will be cleaning and repairing drains along the median.

Woodman Drive Paving - Expect intermittent lane closures on Woodman Drive northbound at U.S. 35 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation. Crews will be paving the roadway.

CONTINUING IMPACTS:

Livingston Avenue Closure - Livingston Avenue will be closed at U.S. 35 starting Wednesday, June 12 through Wednesday, July 10. Crews will be working on the bridge overhead.

Interstate 75 Lane Closure - The ramp from I-75 North to SR 4 North will be reduced to one lane starting Sunday, June 9 through Monday, July 15. Crews will be replacing the median wall.

State Route 4 Ramp Closure - The Ramp from SR 4 North to Valley Pike/SR 444 will be closed from Monday, May 20 through September 2024. This closure is necessary to complete concrete and joint repairs on the ramp.

  • Detour: SR 4 to Harshman Rd to SR 4 to Valley Pike/SR 444

State Route 444 Lane Closure - Expect interior lane closures on SR 444 at SR 4 from 7 a.m. starting Tuesday, May 21 through July 2024. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. Crews will be working on the bridge.

Brookville-Salem Bridge Closure - The Brookville-Salem Bridge over I-70 will be closed starting Thursday, April 11 through July 2024. This closure is necessary to reconstruct the bridge deck.

  • Detour: South - SR 49 to National Rd to Brookville-Phillipsburg Rd to Albert Rd North - Albert Rd to Brookville-Phillipsburg Rd to SR 49

Keowee Street/Webster Street Ramp Closure - The ramp from Keowee Street and Webster Street to I-75 will be closed starting Monday, April 15 through Wednesday, September 11. Crews will be working on bridge decks.

  • Detour: To I-75 NB: N Keowee St to E Monument Ave to N Robert Dr W Second St to I-75 To I-75 SB: N Keowee St to Monument Ave to N Main St to SR 48 N Main St to SR 4 To I-75

State Route 4 Lane Shift - Expect a traffic shift on SR 4 South to the left (interior) side of roadway as construction progresses into the next phase starting Monday, April 15 through Wednesday, September 11. Crews will be working on bridge decks.

Woodman Dr. Interchange Reconfiguration and Bridge Work - Expect lane closures in each direction of Woodman Drive between Kolmar Ave. and Burkhardt Rd. from Monday, April 3, 2023 to September 2024. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Crews will be reconfiguring the interchange and rehabilitating a bridge.

UPCOMING IMPACTS:

Webster Street Resurfacing - Expect traffic to be reduced to a single lane in each direction on Webster Street between Little York Road and Stop 8 Road from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. starting Saturday, July 27 through Saturday, September 14. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.

U.S. 40 Resurfacing - U.S. 40 will be closed between SR 48 and Aullwood Road starting Thursday July, 18 through Monday, August 29. Crews will be repairing the concrete across the top of the dam.

  • Detour: West -National Rd/U.S. 40 to Airport Access Rd to I-70 to N Main St. East - Main St. to I-70 to Airport Access Rd to National Rd/U.S. 40

SR 49 Lane Closure - Expect intermittent lane closures on SR 49 between Union Road and Olive Road from Monday, July 8 to Thursday, August 1. Crews will be working on the bridge.

SR 49 Lane Closure - Expect intermittent lane closures on SR 49 between I-70 and Harco Road from Tuesday, July 9 to Friday, August 2. Crews will be working on the bridge.

Taywood Road Lane Closure - Expect intermittent lane closures on Taywood between I-70 and Dedham Place from Wednesday, July 10 to Friday, August 2. Crews will be working on the bridge.
