Street Tree Planting Program Accepting Applications

The City of Creve Coeur Public Works Department is accepting applications for its annual Street Tree Planting Program, open to residents and subdivisions. Through this program, residents can apply to have a street tree planted in the public right of way of their property. The City pays 50% of the cost and the resident pays the other 50%. Through this year's program, residents would pay $167.50 for a 1-1.5" caliper tree, or $210 for a 2.5-3" caliper tree.

The program offers a variety of trees and sizes. The trees selected have the ability to deal with urban conditions and are safe to plant in the right-of-way, such as non-fruiting varieties with root systems not likely to interfere with sidewalks or streets. Trees planted within the public right-of-way have numerous benefits. Beyond beautifying your neighborhood, street trees also improve air quality, absorb stormwater runoff and provide cooler temperatures under their shade.

The deadline to apply is October 11, 2024. Learn more about the program at: www.crevecoeurmo.gov/Trees
