Inside Elections : "Backed by a sizable spending advantage in the race's final weeks, Riley has eked out a small advantage in private polling and while the race is tight at the top of the ticket, the Democrat is slightly favored."
For the second time in two weeks, the nonpartisan election forecaster Inside Elections has moved New York's 19th Congressional District in Josh Riley's favor, from "Tilt Republican" to a "Toss Up" to now "Tilt Democratic."
Josh Riley continues to gain momentum five days out from Election Day after outraising Marc Molinaro every quarter he's been in the race - building the warchest needed to communicate to Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike in a district with five media markets.
Today's ratings change also coincides with far-right party boss Donald Trump's endorsement of increasingly vulnerable Marc Molinaro, whose "rightward pivot" in the final stretch of his campaign is "baffling his allies as well as some institutional supporters."
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
"With each passing day, Josh Riley is gaining momentum while Marc Molinaro's vulnerability increases. Upstate New Yorkers are taking note and putting their support behind an independent leader like Riley, not a far-right loyalist like Molinaro."
