Investigation Update: Additional Charges Related to Suspect Arrested Following Multiple Armed Robberies

Investigation Update: On Friday, September 13, 2024, detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) conducted further investigation into two similar robbery incidents that occurred in 2023. Detectives were able to identify Edwin Santos, 22, as the suspect and will seek criminal complaints out of Roxbury District Court for additional Unarmed Robbery Charges.

Investigation Update: On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, U.S. Marshals arrested Edwin Santos, 22, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Members of the Boston Police Department were able to track down the suspect's location and provide it to U.S. Marshals. At the time of the arrest, the suspect was wanted on warrants issued out of Roxbury District Court for Two Counts of Armed Robbery to wit Firearm, and Assault and Battery to wit firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

Santo was wanted for a string of gold chain robberies that have occurred in Districts B-2 (Roxbury), B-3 (Mattapan), and District E-18 (Hyde Park). All of the victim's from these incidents were sixty years old or older.
