Two Juvenile Males Arrested Following an Attempted Robbery in Hyde Park

At about 10:29 PM, on Friday, September 13, 2024, officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park) arrested a 16-year-old Juvenile male, and a 17-year-old Juvenile male, for robbery charges.

Officers responded to the area of Neponset Valley Parkway and Clifford Street for a report of a person with a gun. Boston Police Operations provided officers with a description of the suspects and a fleeing vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers were advised that the victim was sitting on a bench at Camp Meigs Playground when he was randomly approached by a group of males. Officers were told that the suspects attempted to rob the victim of his scooter, and one suspect displayed a firearm. The victim was able to flee the scene on his scooter, and call 911.

While officers were speaking with the victim, they observed the suspect's vehicle turn onto Wingate Road. Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop, and requested both occupants to exit the vehicle. Officers placed both suspects into handcuffs, and advised them of the reason for the stop.

Both Juvenile males were placed under arrest and charged with Delinquent to wit; Armed Assault with Intent to Rob. The 16-year-old was additionally charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. Both are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
