Two Shoplifting Suspects Arrested in Back Bay

At about 4:47 PM, on Friday, September 13, 2024, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Kiara Ragland, 19, of Boston, and Jacarie Allen, 20, of Roxbury, on larceny charges.

Officers were assigned to walking beats to patrol the Prudential Mall due to an increase in larceny and shoplifting incidents. Officers responded to the area of 800 Boylston Street for a report of a larceny in progress.

Officers were advised that a repeat shoplifter was inside the Lululemon store. Officers observed two females leave the store together without paying for merchandise. Officers were able to follow the suspects and stopped them in the area of 815 Boylston Street. Officers placed both suspects into handcuffs and recovered approximately $758 in stolen merchandise, which was promptly returned.

Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged with Larceny under $1,200. Officers also determined that Allen had four active warrants for various Shoplifting, Larceny and Assault and Battery charges. Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
